Prodosh Das Gupta

(1912-1991)

Studied under D. P. Roy Choudhari, Royal Akademi of Arts, London and Ecole de Grand Chaumiere, Paris from 1937 to 1939). He was the Founder of Kolkata Group in 1943.

1953: Invited to 'Unknown Political Prisoner' Tate Gallery, London

1957: Tokyo Biennale

1957 – 1970: Director, NGMA, New Delhi

1982: Abanindranath Pushkar awarded by West Bengal Government
